BUCS 5, CHINOOKS 1

Florida State's Gage West and Gonzaga's Cade Reiten ripped two-run homers in a four-run sixth inning, powering the Bucs past Chugiak 5-1 at Mulcahy.

West homered after Chane Lynch's leadoff single, and Reiten delivered after a one-out walk by Garrett Copeland.

The game features 23 strikesout (12 by Chinooks pitchers), 18 stranded baserunners and 17 hits, nine by the Bucs, who won for the fourth straight time.

MINERS 10, Pilots 7

Jonny Locher of Stanford blasted a walkoff grand slam as the Miners used one of their patented rallies-in-the-valley to knock off the Pilots 10-7.

The Pilots led 6-1 after six innings, but Mat-Su outscored them 9-1 in the final three innings.

The Miners pounced on Justin Dellinger, who entered for the Pilots in the bottom of the ninth. Four of their first five batters reached base and two runs were in and two men were on base when Cameron Pongs replaced Dellinger. After giving up a one-out single to load the bases, Pongs got two strikes on Locher, but Locher worked him to a full count before going deep to end the game.

Clayton Taylor's three-run homer in the second boosted the Pilots early.

oilers 9, monarchs 4

The Oilers used seven walks to score seven runs in the fourth inning of a 9-4 triumph over the Monarchs of Lake Erie, Michigan.

Monarchs pitcher Brian Ghiselli and his replacement, T.J. Shook, each issued two consecutive RBI walks to the Oilers. The big hit of the inning was a two-run double by A.J. Hernandez.

Goldpanners 13, seals 3

Cody Nulph and Mike Wieland both homered in the second inning to carry the Goldpanners to a second straight victory over San Francisco, 13-3.

Nulph drove in three with his one-out blast, and three batters later Wieland followed with a two-out, two-run homer.

Wieland finished with a single, double and home run to help fuel the Panners' 14-hit attack.
