Aces finally get payback from Harrison trade: C.J. Severyn

More than nine months after the Alaska Aces traded center Zach Harrison to ECHL Orlando per his request, the Kelly Cup champions closed the deal, which merited them "future considerations.''

The "futures,'' as they say in the biz, turned out to be the ECHL rights to forward C.J. Severyn.

Severyn, 25, in 43 games for Orlando last season put up 11-23--34 totals and a +9 rating. He also played six games in the AHL.

The former Ohio State skater was Orlando's team MVP in 2012-13, when he delivered 22-22--44 totals in 62 games. He looks to have some edge -- 100 penalty minutes this season and 108 in 2012-13.

The deal was officially closed last week before the deadline for such deals to be completed, but was announced by the Aces today.
