Palmer man medevaced, charged with assault in DUI-related crash

A Wasilla man went from the hospital to jail on assault and DUI charges after an accident on the Old Glenn Highway in Palmer, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers said Wasilla residents Richard and Julia Brown, 63 and 64, respectively, were headed northbound on the Old Glenn Highway near Bohman Road shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday when a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Palmer resident Ronald Griffith crossed the center line and crashed into couple's truck.

The Browns were taken to Mat-Su Regional Center with non-life-threatening injuries, while Griffith was flown to Providence Alaska Medical Center, troopers said.

He was treated at Providence and released, whereupon he was arrested on two charges of third-degree assault, DUI and driving with a revoked license.
