Man who nearly drowned in Lake Hood over the weekend has died

An 18-year-old man pulled from Lake Hood Saturday by emergency responders died Tuesday morning, according Anchorage Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Castro. She said Jimmy Paul James' mother called the station Tuesday afternoon to notify them. Shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday night, police received reports that a man was struggling in the water. He was taken to a local hospital where he was resuscitated, but remained unconscious. It remains unclear how James ended up in the water, Castro said.
