Wine review: Hahn Winery 2012 GSM

Grenache, shiraz and mourvedre is a classic Rhone recipe. The French taught us how and now it's made throughout the world. Hahn's 2012 GSM is simply delicious. The grenache strawberry aroma dominates, hedged up with its typical tar thing. The mouth is an instant winner, coating with succulent bright cherry. Here the syrah makes a beautiful entry and finish. There is a lot to love here, with plenty of acidity for food and hardly any tannin. Serve with rich pasta, beef and summer's ever-present ribs. Costs about $15.
