Pitching keys Dimond sweep of Ketchikan

Strong pitching carried Dimond to a doubleheader sweep of Ketchikan in American Legion baseball action Friday at Bartlett.

Jordan Clevenger pitched a five-inning no-hitter, striking out seven, to lead Dimond to a 10-0 win in the opening. Grant Remmer was a home run shy of hitting for the cycle and drove in five runs, Clevenger helped himself with a double and an RBI and Preston Micheletto scored twice and had two hits.

In the second game, Mahlon Cleveland and Billy Orth combined for a five-inning one-hitter. Cleveland didn’t give up any hits in two innings and Orth gave up one hit — to Ketchikan’s Austin Erickson — in three innings.

Remmer drove in two runs with thee hits and stole two bases, Kyle Bremont had three hits and two RBIs, Micheletto contributed two runs and two RBIs and Blayke Brower added one hit and two RBIs.
