Anchorage police responded to calls of a shooting in Mountain View Friday and found a man with a gunshot wound to his upper thigh, said a police spokeswoman.
The man, not identified by police, was taken to the hospital shortly after a 911 call came in at 3:05 p.m. reporting multiple gunshots near the 300 block of Price Street, said Dani Myren, police spokeswoman.
ChangePoint Northeast was holding vacation bible school in the Mountain View Community Center nearby when the shots were fired. The school briefly went on lockdown, volunteers said.
Preliminary reports say the man was involved in an argument with another person when he was shot, Myren said.
Police were still investigating the incident Friday evening and had not made any arrests.
