A response to "Don Young anything but indispensable" (Michael Carey, June 28): Compare Don Young's "irreverent gesture" with President Obama's irreverence during the solemn ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of D-Day. While other world leaders displayed dignity and respect, Obama was observed smirking, slouching and chewing gum. Obama's classless gum chewing was widely reported in Western Europe but largely ignored by the American media.
Don Young may embarrass himself with his refusal to consider retirement but President Obama embarrasses America with his adolescent arrogance.
