Alaska Dispatch News

Steven Brown, 14, became the youngest person to finish as the high overall champion at the Alaska Trapshooting Association state shoot.

Brown finished with 1,008 points out of a possible 1,100 through 10 events over four days of competition last Thursday to Sunday at Birchwood Recreation and Shooting Park.

The competition featured about 100 shooters ages 10 to 80, said Jenn Geary, secretary/treasurer of the Alaska State Amateur Trapshooting Association.

“He shot really well,” Geary said. “We’re real proud of Steven.”
