Rainouts galore

Both ABL contests scheduled for Friday were rained out, including a doubleheader between the Miners and Bucs that was supposed to serve as a makeup for Thursday's rainout between the two clubs.

The Miners and Bucs will meet Sunday in a doubleheader in the Valley.

The Goldpanners-Oilers game scheduled for Friday was canceled due to rain and will not be made up.

Thursday's games

Pilots cruise past Chinooks

The visiting Pilots racked up 14 hits and held the Chinooks to just four as Anchorage cruised to a 9-0 win.

Ray Guerrini went 3 for 5 with an RBI and scored a run for the Pilots, who had four players with at least two hits.

Three Pilots pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts and scattered four hits.

William Arendt went 2 for 4 to lead the Chinooks.

Panners win shortened game

Fairbanks racked up five runs in the second inning en route to a 6-0 win at Kenai in a five-inning game that was shortened due to rain.

Kris Paulino led Fairbanks with two RBIs, one hit and scored one run.

Tylor McGill pitched the entire game, holding Kenai to just two hits and striking out seven.
