More Alaska connections have settled on where they will spend the upcoming season.

We start with Alaska Aces center Tyler Mosienko, who helped the club to its third ECHL Kelly Cup, and has decided, according to eliteprospects.com, to take his talents to the Sheffield Steelers of the Great Britain-based EIHL.

Meanwhile, former Aces goaltender Joni Ortio, who starred for them early last season and ascended all the way to the NHL, where he made his debut, has re-upped with the Calgary Flames for two years. According to capgeek.com, Ortio has a two-way deal for the upcoming season -- he'll make $600,000 in the NHL, $115,000 in the AHL -- and a one-way deal in 2015-16 that will pay him $600,000 no matter which level he's at.

A couple of former UAA defensemen have likewise determined where they will play in the upcoming season. Luka Vidmar, after two seasons with ECHL South Carolina and six AHL games last season, is headed to the Czech Republic to play for Mlada Boleslav.

And Nils Backstrom has re-upped with Rubin Tyumen, which plays in the VHL, the second level in Russia.
