Wasilla man sets drag racing record

Wasilla's Robert Wilson set a new Alaska Raceway Park record when he topped 250 mph in his top alcohol dragster Sunday.

Wilson surpassed his former record of 244 mph set in 2012.

Also over the weekend, Nathan Thornsley and Monte Soper, both of Palmer, secured a spot in the Summit Super Series that will be held Aug. 15-17 in Edmonton.
