South Post 4 bounced from American Legion baseball regional

South Post 4's stay at the American Legion Northwest Regional in Eugene, Oregon, was brief and painful.

The baseball team from Boise, Idaho, dispatched South 18-8 in seven innings Friday to eliminate the Alaskans from the double-elimination tournament. South fell 24-3 to Medford, Oregon, in its opener Thursday. Both games were shortened by the mercy rule.

Boise led South 8-1 after two innings and 16-1 after four innings.

Alec Valdez went 2 for 3 for South, scoring two runs and driving in two runs. Jake Crapps also drove in two runs, and Tyler Kile and Sage Dudick each drove in a run.

Boise's Parker Price went 2 for 4 and drove in four runs.

South's pitching staff was rocked in the regional, where opponents hit .506 (41 for 81) against it.
