Aces sign 2 more: Returner Ring-Jarvi, newcomer Sova

The Alaska Aces today announced the signings of two players, returning forward Ross Ring-Jarvi and rookie defenseman Daniel Sova, and that gives the ECHL champs 10 players they have announced as signed for the upcoming season.

Ring-Jarvi, 27, was part of the Kelly Cup-winning crew in his first season with the Aces. As a third-line forward and penalty killer, Ring-Jarvi in 51 regular-season games earned 9-15--24 totals and a +12 rating. He had one short-handed strike. In seven playoff games, he had one goal and a +2 rating.

Sova, 24, is a 6-foot-4, 225-pounder from Michigan Tech who missed a lot of games, apparently to injury, as a junior and senior -- he played just 31 games his last two seasons, with 1-1--2 totals. As a sophomore, he earned 3-10--13 totals in 39 games. As a freshman, he went 0-9--9 in 38 games.

Look for more on these signings later today at adn.com and in Friday's edition of the dead-trees publication.
