Palmer skier wins silver in X Games video contest

Dane Tudor, a 25-year-old freeskier from Palmer, recently earned a silver medal in ESPN's X Games Real Ski Backcountry video contest.

Tudor injured his leg in early 2013 while skiing in British Columbia, where he now lives. But he already had enough footage to finish his 90-second video, which was one of seven entered by backcountry skiers from around the world.

On Sunday, Sept. 14, ESPN announced that Tudor's video -- which he edited himself -- had finished second to Sammy Carlson's. In a video posted on the X-Games website, Tudor discusses filming his video and talks about his return to skiing after the injury.
