Pot fumigation sickening

I'm sure I am in the minority on this, but has anyone considered that marijuana can make people sick? I have never had a pleasant experience with marijuana, I do not even get a contact high. I simply get nauseated. Unfortunately, my condo building neighbors tend to enjoy it. Last December, I could not walk to my units door without walking through a cloud of it, and I don't rent, I own. Moving is not exactly a feasible option. If it passes, my building will smell like Christmas in the worst way all the time.

Where do you draw the line between the people who want the freedom to enjoy pot, and the people who want the freedom to breath clean air in their own home without becoming ill?

Ballot Measure 2 needs civil discourse

I attended the Tuesday afternoon Anchorage public hearing on the proposed marijuana act, going in with an open mind, no dog in the fight, and hoping to gain insight into which way to vote.

I got up and left not long after the first "pro" testimony witness launched into an angry, personal and unprovoked attack on Ms. Kristin Woolston (representing the opposition).

Can't we have a civil discourse and focus on knowledge and basic issues? It wasn't headed that way Tuesday. The Yes leaders need to reign in some of that anger to avoid alienating people like myself, who just want to come to a reasoned decision on this important issue.

Devious election calls

Aspen Media called for the umpteenth time last night. I hope people who get this call understand who it is on the other end of the line. Sounds like an important survey. They say they're not selling anything, they're just asking you questions about the politics in Alaska. This starts out with a distinguished series of questions and then it slowly morphs into a tongue-twisting rebuke of Senate candidate Dan Sullivan. Questions are asked in a devious manner to exclude the actual and more complicated circumstances. Then it tries to trap you into answering "If it were true how would you feel about Dan Sullivan?" Do these people think we're stupid? Get out and vote folks. Know who you're voting for — not against.
