Wine of the Week: 2012 King Estate Acrobat Pinot Noir

Well, the virtues of the highly touted 2012 vintage are starting to bear fruit. The King Estate Acrobat Pinot Noir from Oregon is not just good, it's strikingly good! Darkly colored, the wine speaks volumes about itself through concentrated aromas of black cherry, strawberry and sweet spices. The mouth is all pinot noir, with deep-coating black cherries and lovely wood nuance. There is a fair amount of structure here for the money. Usually, Oregon pinots that carry this much flavor go for twice as much. A good acid structure makes this a great foodie wine too! Drink now and over the next couple of years. Costs about $20.
