Big weekends from Zoe Hickel and Eric Schierhorn

Sizzling Sunday out of winger Zoe Hickel of Anchorage.

Hickel, a senior at Minnesota-Duluth and one of its two captains, bagged her first college hat trick in a 6-2 win over Lindenwood, and also furnished an assist, six shots on goal and a +4 rating. She leads the Bulldogs in goals and is tied for first in points with 6-3--9 totals in 10 games. In 112 career games, Hickel has delivered 33-37--70 totals.

Meanwhile, goaltender Eric Schierhorn of Anchorage rocked over the weekend with a pair of wins, including a shutout, for the USHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks and was named the circuit's Goaltender of the Week. He posted 32 saves in a 2-0 shutout of Green Bay on Friday and backed it up with 30 saves in a 4-2 win over the Gamblers on Saturday. Schierhorn, 18, is 6-2-0 with a 2.76 goals-against average and .904 save percentage.

Just FYI, Kris Oldham, 17, of Anchorage, also tends goal in the USHL -- he's with Omaha. He's 1-0-1 with a 2.95 and .880.
