New Hampshire sophomore goaltender Ashley Wilkes of North Pole is the Women's Hockey East defensive player of the week.
Wilkes, 19, earned the award for stopping 21 of 22 shots in a 5-1 win over Vermont. The graduate of the North American Hockey Academy is 1-1-0 this season, with a 2.02 goals-against average and .922 save percentage.
As a freshman, she went 3-9-0, 2.74, .899.
