History: Some UAA losses even worse than tonight's

The 10-2 anvil Ferris State dropped on UAA's collective melon tonight in Big Rapids, Michigan, brought to mind some past blowouts the Seawolves have suffered in the WCHA.

That eight-goal spread was one goal shy of the nine-goal spread UAA has three times endured in the league.

Let's go to the lowlights:

Oct. 27, 2006, at Michigan Tech: MTU 9, UAA 0. Who can forget Peter Rouleau's hat trick (even-strength, shortie, PP)? Me, that's who. And I think I was there. Justin Bourne, current hockey writer supreme (damn him!) fired four shots on goal to tie for the UAA team high. I don't believe this was the game after which Justin uttered one of my all-time favorite quotes, but what the hell, let's pretend it was. Quoth Bourne: "We only get one loss for that, right?''

Nov. 11, 2005, at Minnesota: Minnesota 9, UAA 0. Some dude named Phil Kessel had 1-4--5 totals and eight shots on goal. Wonder what ever happened to that cat? Whatever the case, I bet he looks totally happy all the time.

Jan. 17, 2003, at Sullivan Arena: North Dakota 11, UAA 2. Some dude named Zach Parise had a hat trick, one assist and a +4. Wonder what ever happened to that cat? Man, hope he's able to make ends meet.
