Dimond boys, Service-East girls score prep hockey wins

Service-East 6, South-Bartlett 1

Six different players lit the lamp at the Sullivan Arena to lift Service-East to a 6-1 girls hockey win on Wednesday over South-Bartlett.

Jayla Oja, Maggie Mauk, Stella Olnes, Kamryn Frisk, Sophie Bethke and Jaden Trboyevich scored goals for the victors, who outshot South-Bartlett 18-4.

Madeline Millar had three assists for Service-East, which also got helpers from Trboyevich, Oja, Mauk, Olnes, Augustine Hammer and Brynne Leety.

Natalia Cole had the lone goal for South-Bartlett, which got 12 saves from Katie Wallow. Autumn Tyra and Veronica Sager notched assists.

Emma Beeler made three saves to earn the win for Service-East.

Dimond 6, Chugiak 3

Spencer Penman and Ryan Perius had two goals each to help Dimond earn a back-and-forth 6-3 Cook Inlet Conference boys hockey win over Chugiak on Wednesday night at Ben Boeke Arena.

Penman and Perius staked Dimond to a 2-1 lead after a first period that also included a goal by Chugiak's Andrew Beckett.

The Mustangs tied things up late in the second on the first of two tallies from Rhys Cottle. Dimond re-took the lead on Penman's second goal, but Chugiak again tied things up with a Cottle strike with 2:11 left in the frame.

The Lynx pulled away in the third, getting goals from Perius, Kyle Mack and Cody Dearing.

Darin Hammingh stopped 12 shots in two periods of play for Dimond, which got a clean sheet from Chris Gardeline (four saves) in the third.

Chugiak goalie DJ Paxon turned back 39 shots for the Mustangs, who got two assists from Sam Hanson and Zachary Krajnik.
