Thursday's prep hockey roundup

Service 3, West Valley 2

Service got goals from Edgar Gonzalez, Brad Kuper and Tyler Millar to pick up a 3-2 nonconference boys hockey win over West Valley on Thursday at the Patty Center in Fairbanks.

Logan Arpino and Caleb Moretz scored for the Wolfpack.

South 3, West 0

Kris Heck, Bryson Schmitz and John Matson scored goals as South defeated West 3-0 in a Cook Inlet Conference boys hockey game on Thursday night at Ben Boeke. Jeremy Swayman made 38 saves to earn the shutout for the Wolverines.

Heck had a power play goal in the first period and Schmitz and Matson added theirs on shorthanded tallies in the third.

Jack Walters stopped 23 of 26 shots for West.

Homer 6, Bartlett 1

Homer defeated Bartlett 6-1 at the End of the Road Shootout hockey tournament on Thursday night in Homer.

Dimond-West 2, Service-East 0

Gabi Gibson stopped all 19 shots she faced to backstop Dimond-West's 2-0 girls hockey win on Thursday at the Dempsey Anderson Ice Arena.

Kendra Robbins and Hannah Hartwell scored goals and Tami Suenram had an assist for the victors.

Vandalyn Hudson had 16 saves for Service-East.
