Late goal carries West past Chugiak; Soldotna wins in Homer

West 3, Chugiak 2

Alex Bardsley scored with 15 seconds left in regulation Saturday to lift West past Chugiak 3-2 in a Cook Inlet Conference hockey game at Ben Boeke Arena.

Chugiak led 1-0 after one period on Andrew Beckett's goal, and West tied it in the second period with Garrett Brunner's unassisted goal.

Roman Hamm gave the Eagles a 2-1 lead midway through the third period, but Chugiak tied it 2-2 with 3:28 to play on John Hammer's goal.

West fired 38 shots at Chugiak goaltender Jack Straub, who made 35 saves. Jack Walters recorded 13 saves for West.

Stars win Shootout title

Goals from Ty Fenton, Coel Nelson and Ethan Brown carried Soldotna to a 3-1 win over Homer in Saturday's championship game of the End of the Road Shootout in Homer.

Dimitry Kuznin scored for Homer.

In the third-place game, Tristan Hrucha scored twice to lead Houston to a 5-1 win over Bartlett, which got a goal from Kyle Sun.

On Friday, Soldotna edged Bartlett 2-1. Fenton and Clayton Longfellow delivered for the Stars, and Sun scored for Bartlett.
