Rink report: UAF falls 4-1 at home; Kenai River loses on road in OT

The good news for the UAF Nanooks on Saturday: No one's plus-minus took a hit.

The bad news: That's because Northern Michigan scored all its goals in the power play in a 4-1 road win over the Nanooks.

UAF was busted for two major penalties, which is a major buzz-kill for a team trying to get some traction in the WCHA. UAF, UAA and Bemidji State are all 2-6-0, and Alabama-Huntsville is 2-8-0, and that creates a four-way logjam for seventh place in the 10-team WCHA.

On the NAHL front, the Kenai River Brown Bears fell 4-3 in OT at Wenatchee after leading 3-1 nearly midway through the third period -- ouch.

Mike Coyne bagged the game winner to wrap his hat trick. Kenai River got one goal and one helper from both Evan Butcher and Jack Gessert, and a goal from Maurin Bouvet.

Wenatchee's Michael Bullion of Anchorage secured the win with 22 saves. Kenai River's Josh Creelman stopped 37 shots.
