Stephon Williams has his groove back in a big way

After a fantastic freshman season (All-WCHA first team) and horrific sophomore season (lost his No. 1 job), Minnesota State-Mankato junior goaltender Stephon Williams of Fairbanks is back among the best backstops in college hockey.

Williams on Saturday complete a weekend shutout at Lake Superior State with a 21-save effort in a 3-0 win that followed his 24-save bagel in a 7-0 win Friday.

Williams has won six straight decisions and in that span delivered a 1.13 goals-against average and .954 save percentage.

Overall this season, Williams is 11-1-0, 1.52, .931. The New York Islanders draft pick owns seven career shutouts.
