Nobody was hurt when flames spread from a van parked in Mountain View to a nearby apartment complex and pickup on Wednesday afternoon, the Anchorage Fire Department said.
Multiple 911 callers reported the fire around 1:40 p.m. on the 700 block of N. Pine Street, according to Al Tamagni, AFD spokesman.
"One caller said that the vehicle fire was exploding," Tamagni said. "The first crew got there and said the building and the vehicle were both burning and they quickly got the fire under control."
Firefighters called the blaze under control by 2 p.m.
