Only six-tenths of an inch of snow had been measured by mid-afternoon Sunday at the National Weather Service's Anchorage office in the Sand Lake area, said Michael Kutz, a service desk meteorologist.
Eastside neighborhoods were seeing closer to 2 inches around the same time, Kutz said.
Snow showers were expected to continue overnight, with 2-4 inches of snowfall expected in the Anchorage Bowl by Monday morning.
