APD: 3 arrested after man shot during home invasion robbery in Eagle River

The Anchorage Police Department reported Tuesday evening that three men have been arrested in connection with an early morning robbery and shooting in Eagle River.

One of the suspects, who was tracked by police and canine officers, was identified as 35-year-old Ryan Duane Calhoun-Moudy, police said. Calhoun-Moudy was taken to APD headquarters and questioned.

Later Tuesday, two more men were taken into custody after they rammed an SUV into several police vehicles in an attempt to avoid arrest. They have been identified as Brion Ingram, 28, and Matthew Fox, 34.

All three men have been charged with first-degree robbery, weapons misconduct, theft and four counts of first-degree assault. Their bail is unknown, police said.

Police asked for the public's help Tuesday morning in finding a vehicle they believed was linked to the crimes.

At 3:28 a.m., police said, they received a call that two intruders had entered a home on the 10000 block of Caribou Street in Eagle River where three adults and two children were sleeping. The intruders demanded money from the residents.

A confrontation between the intruders and a male resident of the home resulted in the male resident being shot in the leg and struck in the head with an "unknown object," APD spokeswoman Anita Shell wrote. He was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition Tuesday morning.

Calhoun-Moudy allegedly fled on foot and was apprehended by APD officers and K-9 units roughly 15 minutes after the incident was reported.

At about 10:40 a.m., officers located the suspect vehicle, a 2007 Ford Escape, in downtown Anchorage on Eagle Street.

Special Assignment Unit officers, who generally don partial SWAT gear during volatile situations, set up surveillance on the vehicle and the suspects who were inside a nearby apartment.

Fox and Ingram eventually emerged from the apartment and began to drive away, police said.

"Officers blocked the vehicle, but the suspects attempted to escape and rammed four officers' vehicles before surrendering," police said.
