ACS sweeps Cordova

The Anchorage Christian basketball teams chalked up wins Friday over Cordova in a doubleheader at ACS.

Caroline Bowden and Chaunice Carr both poured in 16 points for the ACS girls in a 55-44 win over the Wolverines. Raven Thibodeaux added 11.

Lindsey Phillips scored 15 and Sarah Hamburger 13 for Cordova.

In the boys game, Levi Auble's 21 points highlighted ACS's 61-48 win.

Zach Bronson chipped in 12 points and Randy Kouhutek had 10 for the Lions, and Jacob Werner's 15 points and Dylan Cheshier's 12 led Cordova.

Chugiak 48, South 34

Randi McMullen dropped in 15 points Friday to help Chugiak stop South 48-34 in a Cook Inlet Conference girls basketball game at Chugiak.

Anna Ingraham and Carly Stone grabbed eight rebounds apiece for the Mustangs.

Dimond 55, Soldotna 36

The Dimond girls dominated the fourth quarter to pull away from Soldotna 55-36 Friday in a nonconference basketball game in Soldotna.

Rohyn Huss poured in 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Lynx, who led 35-27 after three quarters and cemented things with a 20-9 fourth quarter. Lexi Wingert also had seven rebounds for the winners.

Lindsey Wong's 12 points topped Soldotna.
