Anchorage fighters Enz, Murphy head back to UFC

Two Anchorage fighters are getting back in the Ultimate Fighting Championship octagon.

Andy Enz will fight an early preliminary for UFC 183 later this month in Las Vegas, and Lauren Murphy is scheduled to battle in the April 4 UFC Fight Night in Fairfax, Virginia.

Enz, 22, faces Thiago Santos in a 185-pound fight Jan. 31 on the undercard of the Anderson Silva-Nick Diaz bout

Enz, a 2010 Service High graduate who attends UAA, is 8-2 with both of his losses coming in the UFC. This month's fight will be the third of his four-fight UFC contract. In his previous UFC appearances, Enz lost a split decision to Marcelo Guimoraes in June and a unanimous decision to Clint Hester in February.

Murphy, 31, will appear on the undercard of the Chad Mendes-Ricardo Lamas fight. Her opponent is Liz Carmouche, a mixed martial arts pioneer who competed in the UFC's first female fight. Carmouche lost to Rhonda Rousey in that historic 2013 fight.

Murphy, who trains in Phoenix, is 8-1 after losing her UFC debut in August, a controversial split decision won by Sara McMann.
