AFC crowns go to Taunton, Wiggins

Johnny Taunton and Dillin Wiggins captured Alaska Fighting Championship titles Wednesday night at Sullivan Arena.

Taunton pulled out a five-round split decision over Darren Snow in a bantamweight fight to earn a title at 135 pounds. Wiggins, a 205-pounder, knocked out Hipa Fouvale 27 seconds into the second round of their light heavyweight fight.

In the night's only heavyweight bout, Mika Silulus ended things quickly, knocking out Bryc Palmer in 14 seconds.

The AFC returns to Sullivan Arena on Feb. 11.
