Anchorage police identify second victim in Tuesday's double homicide

The Anchorage Police Department released the name of the woman murdered in Tuesday's double homicide as 23-year-old Krystal Elizabeth Hawk.

On Wednesday morning, APD spokesperson Jennifer Castro said no suspects had been arrested and the police department's crime scene unit remained at the East Anchorage apartment complex.

Police arrived at the 6000 block of East 41st Court early Tuesday morning and found 27-year-old Christian Haynes already dead of gunshot wounds. Hawk was taken to an Anchorage hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries at 5 a.m.

Their deaths were the second and third homicides of 2015. At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, police said their deaths could be related to other violent crimes.

Anyone with information about the most recent shooting is asked to call police at 907-786-8900 or contact Crime Stoppers at 907-561-STOP.
