Service edges closer to CIC hockey title with 3-1 win over East

Tyler Millar and Jack Martensen each furnished one goal and one assist Wednesday night and Cook Inlet Conference-leading Service edged closer to a regular-season title with a 3-1 win over East at Ben Boeke Arena.

Jacob McVay added a goal for the Cougars and Ronan Klancher pocketed the shutout with 11 saves.

The Cougars (12-1-0 CIC) own a two-point lead on Dimond. Both teams have one regular-season game remaining before the conference tournament opens next week.

East goaltender Matthew Purvis shined with 44 saves.
