North Pole man found with life-threatening gunshot wound

A 49-year-old North Pole man sustained life-threatening injuries after being shot late Tuesday morning, Alaska State Troopers say.

Shortly after 11 a.m. troopers were notified of a possible shooting at a residence off of Horseshoe Way in North Pole. When they arrived, they found Dallas Williams alone with a life-threatening gunshot wound, troopers reported in an online dispatch.

Trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters said Williams was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

No additional information was available Wednesday morning, Peters said, adding that the circumstances of the shooting were still under investigation.
