Grace 66, Homer 59
Trevor Osborne averaged a point a minute Thursday to fuel Grace Christian's 66-59 boys basketball win over visiting Homer.
Osborne drained eight 3-pointers on his way to a 32-point night. Tobin Karlberg added 15 points for the Grizzlies, who led after every quarter but never by more than eight points.
Homer got a big game from Jaruby Nelson, who drilled five 3-pointers en route to a team-high 23. Sheldon Hutt added 16 points for the Mariners.
ACS 72, Nikiski 40
Four players scored in double figures Thursday to lead Anchorage Christian past Nikiski 72-40 at ACS.
Randy Komuter scored 17 points, Bobby Wilson added 16, Levi Auble had 13 and Zack Bronson 10 for the Lions, who pulled away in the second half.
Up 33-25 at the half, ACS outscored Nikiski 19-6 in the third quarter and 20-9 in the fourth.
Cade Anderson's 12 points and Nathan Carstens' 10 powered the Bulldogs.
GIRLS
Grace 53, Homer 49
The Grace Christian girls pulled out a 53-49 home-court win Thursday night despite 29 points from Homer's Madison Akers.
The Grizzlies raced to a 17-4 lead in the first quarter and hung on for the win.
Nikiski 26, ACS 24
In a game that featured a nearly scoreless second quarter, Nikiski eked out a 26-24 win in a Thursday game at ACS.
Nikiski's Rachel Thompson scored nine points, including a basket with six seconds left in the first half that lifted the Bulldogs to a 9-3 halftime lead. Thompson's late basket accounted for all of the points scored in the second quarter.
Raven Thibodeaux scored 10 points, eight of them in the fourth quarter, and Becca Land had eight for ACS, which was 4 of 14 from the foul line.
