Prep hoops: Friday's girls results

Chugiak 47, Wasilla 44

Chugiak rallied in the fourth quarter to turn back Wasilla 47-44 in a nonconference girls basketball game Friday in Wasilla.

Down 40-37 after three quarters, the Mustangs outscored their host 10-4 in the final period.

Nicole Pinckney drained three treys to help Chugiak outscore Wasilla 18-3 from 3-point range. Pinckney finished with 15 points and Ashlynn Burgess added 13 for the Mustangs.

Leya DePriest's 17 points and 12 rebounds keyed Wasilla's effort.

East 42, South 24

Tennae Voliva's 15 points and Kalo Uhila's 10 rebounds and seven points sparked East's 42-24 Cook Inlet Conference girls basketball win over South in a Friday game at South.

East played one of its best defensive games of the season to keep South in check most of the game, but Zulia Cole managed to score nine points and Isabelle Lada added eight to lead the Wolverines.

Dimond 56, Bartlett 14

Lexi Wingert's double-double helped Dimond drop Bartlett 56-14 in a CIC game at Dimond.

Wingert scored game highs of 14 points and 10 rebounds and teammate Rohyn Huss added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Lynx.

Bartlett was led by Kendra Carnell with four points and Tala Lauvele with three points and five rebounds.

Grace 36, Seward 22

Mary Hogan netted 12 points and Mikayla Shamburger added nine to help Grace Christian post a 36-22 conference win over visiting Seward.

The Grizzlies roared to a 26-11 halftime lead that allowed them to survive a one-point third quarter.

Jasmine Perea's 11 points topped Seward.

ACS 45, Homer 41

Caroline Bowden scored 16 points and Raven Thibodeaux tallied 14 Friday to power Anchorage Christian's 45-41 conference win over Homer at ACS.

The win came despite 22 points from Homer's Madison Akers, who scored all six of her team's first-quarter points.
