West skates past East in game marred by 30 penalties

In a game marred by 30 penalties, including eight misconducts, West skated to a 6-1 win over East in a Cook Inlet Conference boys hockey game at Ben Boeke Arena.

Michael Curran provided three goals and an assist for West, which was guilty of 13 penalties, three of them midconducts.

Dawson Ellingworth added two goals for the Eagles. West outshot East 46-9, with 15 shots on goal coming in a scoreless third period.

Jack Reynolds had a second-period strike for East. Among the 17 penalties registered by the T-birds were five misconducts.
