Girls hoops: Saturday's prep basketball results

Wasilla 63, Service 21

The Wasilla girls throttled Service 63-21 Saturday in a nonconferene game highlighted by Leya DePriest's 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Ten players scored and 13 grabbed rebounds for the Warriors, whose 52-26 rebounding advantage included eight boards from Machia Toews.

The Cougars struggled offensively, scoring just five points in the second half. Nalani Fomai's seven points led the team.

Seward 48, ACS 33

Jasmine Perea and Kiana Clemens combined for 22 points Saturday in Seward's 48-33 win over the Anchorage Christian girls.

Perea tossed in 16 points of her 20 points in the second half to help the Seahawks expand a 21-14 halftime lead.

Caroline Bowden was ACS's top scorer with 19 points.

Nikiski 32, Grace 24

The Nikiski girls held Grace Christian scoreless in the first quarter Saturday en route to a 32-24 win over the Grizzlies.

Rachel Thompson's game-high 11 points included eight in the first half that allowed the Bulldogs to a build a 19-7 halftime lead.

Annie VanderWeide and Hayley Hagan scored six points apiece for Grace Christian.
