Troopers looking for suspect in Wasilla pharmacy robbery

Alaska State Troopers are searching for a man they say was involved in a Wasilla pharmacy robbery this week.

On Monday, troopers responded to the Geneva Woods Pharmacy on Seward Meridian Parkway at 7:40 p.m. A man with a gun forced his way through the back door and demanded the lone pharmacist fill up a "large tote" with prescription medication, troopers wrote in a dispatch report.

Trooper spokesperson Megan Peters would not specify types of drugs the robber stole but said the total was about $40,000 worth of controlled substances.

Troopers are asking the public for help locating the suspect. He is described as white and between 6 foot 2 and 6 foot 4. Anyone with information is asked to call troopers at 907-745-2131.

The pharmacist was uninjured and the investigation is ongoing, troopers said. Peters wasn't able to immediately provide additional information.
