Tuesday night's CIC boys basketball roundup

Eagle River 70, Chugiak 50

Eagle River held onto the "Birchwood Bowl" traveling trophy with a 70-50 Cook Inlet Conference boys basketball triumph over rival Chugiak on Tuesday at Eagle River. The Wolves also won the trophy last season.

Jared Phearson had a game-high 21 points to lead Eagle River (2-10). Justin Patin added 16 points, R.J. Dirscherl had 14 and Eric Andersen chipped in 10.

Zack Philbrick and Derryck Snell scored 12 each for the Mustangs (2-10).

Bartlett 57, South 47

Tyler Boyer went off for 26 points to lead Bartlett to a 57-47 road conference win over South on Tuesday. Boyer had 17 points in the second half.

Kage Freelove added 15 points for the Golden Bears (5-7), who also got nine from Ryan Trailer.

Kyle Rochon scored 16 and Wyatt Babiak had 12 for the Wolverines, who dropped to 4-8 in the CIC.

West 57, Service 51

Brandon Huffman scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead West to a 57-51 CIC boys basketball win over Service on Tuesday at West.

The win lifted West – which clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CIC tournament – to 12-0.

Dazhon Wyche scored 13 points for the Eagles, who also got 12 points and nine boards from Devonte Doutrive.

Pindo Drammeh scored a game-high 23 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked four shots for Service, which dropped to 8-4 in the conference.

East 61, Dimond 48

East moved into a tie for second place in the conference with a 61-48 win over Dimond on Tuesday at East.

Marquis White scored a game-high 20 points for East, which improved to 8-4 in the CIC with two games to go. Service is also 8-4 in the CIC.

Desmond Johnson scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds. In the process, he became one of two East athletes to pass 1,000 career points on Tuesday. Taria Page also eclipsed the mark in the East girls' triumph over Dimond earlier in the night. Louis Bonner (15 points, six rebounds) rounded out a balanced East offensive attack.

Muhamed Cole scored 13 points for Dimond (7-5), which got nine from Josh Fosi.
