Friday night's boys basketball round-up

West continued its undefeated roll through the Cook Inlet Conference with an 84-36 thumping of Chugiak on Friday night at Chugiak.

In other CIC games, Service held on against a scrappy Eagle River squad, East downed South and Dimond got past Bartlett.

In Class 3A action on the Kenai Peninsula, Grace Christian got past Nikiski while ACS came up one point short in its comeback bid at Homer.

Devante Doutrive scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Eagles, who improved to 13-0 in the CIC. West will go for a perfect conference record on Saturday night at Eagle River.

Noah Christy added 16 points and six rebounds for West, which got 10 points and seven boards from Brandon Huffman and eight assists from Devonaire Doutrive.

Zack Philbrick scored nine points to lead the Mustangs (2-11).

The CIC regular season concludes with four games Saturday -- East at Bartlett, Service at Chugiak, South at Dimond and West at Eagle River. All games are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Service 47, Eagle River 44

Service held on for a 47-44 CIC win against an undermanned Eagle River side that used only five players Friday night at Service.

The Wolves (2-11) held a 39-36 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Service (9-4) used an 11-5 run down the stretch to pull away.

Pindo Drammeh scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the first quarter for the Cougars, who also got 13 from Ronald Hall and seven from Brad Wacker.

R.J. Dirscherl scored 15 for the Wolves, who got 13 from Justin Patin and nine from Wyatt Reiser.

East 67, South 59

East got 24 points, 12 rebounds and four steals from Desmond Johnson and 18 points, seven rebounds and five steals from Marquis White in its 67-59 home win over South to improve to 9-4 in the CIC.

Eyatt Babiak scored 14 points and Alex Adams added nine for South (4-9).

Dimond 47, Bartlett 40

Josh Fosi drained four treys on his way to a game-high 18 points, lifting Dimond to a 47-40 win over Bartlett in a CIC game Friday at Bartlett.

The Lynx forged a one-point lead after three quarters and sealed the victory by liming Bartlett to two points in the fourth quarter.

Muhamad Cole contributed nine points and five steals in the win. Bartlett was led by Tyler Boyer's 14 points and 14 rebounds and Bentiu Panoam's and Ryan Traylor added nine each.

Grizzlies win, Lions drop a heartbreaker

The Grace Christian boys picked up a 70-62 road win at Nikiski on Friday, while Anchorage Christian lost by one point at Homer.

ACS got 23 points from Trey Huckabay and 22 from Bobby Wilson, but it wasn't quite enough -- the Mariners held on for a 69-68 win. Huckabay and Wilson combined for 24 points in the fourth quarter, helping ACS nearly erase a 15-point deficit after the third.

Kenneth Schneider led all scorers with 27 points for the Mariners.
