Troopers: Routine traffic stop ends in warrant, drug arrests

Alaska State Troopers said they arrested two people on outstanding warrants after pulling over a vehicle for a traffic violation in Wasilla Thursday.

In an online dispatch troopers wrote that Dusty Duke, 36, and Askia Porcher, 37, were pulled over by troopers for a moving violation, but troopers quickly discovered that the two were the subjects of outstanding arrest warrants.

Duke, of Palmer, had two outstanding no bail warrants for DUI and fourth-degree assault. Porcher was wanted for second-degree escape and fourth-degree domestic violence.

Porcher was also found in possession of 5.76 grams of methamphetamine, as well as 0.35 grams of heroin, troopers said.

Trooper spokesperson Megan Peters said the estimated value of the drugs is about $1,000.

Duke was being held without bail and Porcher was being held with $5,500 cash bail.
