UAA skier Alexander goes out as an All-American

Sean Alexander capped his UAA ski career with an All-America finish Saturday at the NCAA Ski Championships in Lake Placid, New York.

Alexander, a senior from Calgary, placed eighth in the men's slalom race. The result marked the second All-America finish of his career.

The Seawolves placed ninth in the team standings with 204 points.

Capturing the team title was Colorado, which earned its 20th NCAA championship with 505 points. Denver finished second with 478 points and Utah was third with 471.

Sophomore Curtis McKillop delivered a 20th-place showing for UAA in the men's race, and freshman Marion Hudry led the UAA women in 24th place.

Alexander's effort gave UAA two All-Americans during the week-long championships. Clement Molliet, a junior from France, chalked up a top-10 finish in the men's 20-K classic-technique cross country race earlier in the week.

Over the years, the UAA ski team has produced 145 All-America finishes.
