Garfunkel and Oates headed to Anchorage

Comedy-folk duo Garfunkel and Oates will perform at Wendy Williamson Auditorium next month, presented by the UAA Concert Board.

The pair gained a following when their sarcastically smutty songs got played on TV shows like "Scrubs" and "Big Bang Theory." The "Garfunkel and Oates" television series, in which they play themselves, started on the IFC network last year.

Riki Lindhome, aka Garfunkel (blonde with a guitar) and Kate Micucci, aka Oates (brunette with a ukulele), both hail from Pennsylvania. Their playlist includes such memorable titles as: "Sex with Ducks," "Pregnant Women are Smug," "Screw You" (retitled after it debuted with a synonymous but different verb), "One Night Stand," "The Ex-Boyfriend Song" and "This Party (Just) Took a Turn for the Douche" -- which is not about the Alaska economy, despite what you might think.

The show will take place at 7:30 on Friday, April 24. Tickets for the general public are $25 in advance and will be available at uaatix.com starting Friday March 27 (they're $30 at the door). For UAA students, the show is $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
