The Alaska Air National Guard and Alaska State Troopers on Saturday came to the aid of a man who fell into a crevasse on Eureka Glacier.
Troopers say they took a call just after 5:30 p.m. from 59-year-old Shawn Murphy of North Pole.
Murphy reported that his companion, 69-year-old Fairbanks resident Robert McClintock, had wrecked his snowmobile and fallen into the glacier crevasse.
The Alaska Air National Guard 210th Rescue Squadron dispatched a C130 and a Blackhawk helicopter.
Troopers report McClintock was lifted from the crevasse and flown to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital around 2 a.m. Sunday. He is listed as stable.
Eureka Glacier is about 125 miles southeast of Fairbanks.
