Due to unusually mild early spring weather, the Denali Park Road has been opened as far as Savage River at Mile 15 as road crews continue plowing toward Kantishna at Mile 92.
Toilets at the Mountain Vista Rest Area on the east side of Savage River are open, but other facilities west of park headquarters, including the Savage River Campground, are closed for now.
The Murie Science and Learning Center at Mile 1.3 is open daily 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., offering visitor information and backcountry permits.
