Troopers: Man arrested after firing shotgun at house, people in Newtok

A 25-year-old man was arrested after firing a shotgun in the course of a dispute in the Western Alaska village of Newtok, Alaska State Troopers said.

In an online dispatch, troopers wrote Admiral Tom was intoxicated when he fired his weapon at a house and in the direction of two people with whom he was arguing Tuesday night.

Wednesday morning, two troopers flew to the village and arrested Tom without incident.

He was taken to the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center and faces charges of second-degree weapons misconduct, fourth-degree weapons misconduct, as well as two counts of third-degree assault.
