Troopers investigating death of woman in Lower Kalskag

Alaska State Troopers are investigating the death of a 27-year-old woman in the Kuskokwim River village of Lower Kalskag.

Troopers in Aniak received a report from Lower Kalskag at 3 a.m. Saturday that Marcia White had been found dead in her home, troopers said in an online dispatch published Sunday.

Troopers and a roving village public safety officer from Aniak traveled to the village by snowmachine, arriving at 5:30 a.m., the dispatch said.

The death is being investigated by the Alaska Bureau of Investigation, an arm of the Alaska State Troopers, with help from Aniak's state trooper and the roving VPSO.

White's body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner office in Anchorage for an autopsy.
