Troopers: 3 Wasilla residents jailed after Valley heroin bust

Three Wasilla residents were jailed and facing multiple charges after a heroin bust at a Mat-Su residence Wednesday afternoon, Alaska State Troopers said.

Troopers said in an online dispatch that they went to a home on Terrell Drive at around 2:19 p.m. Wednesday to assist Palmer-based probation officers who were there to conduct a search. That search found two of the home's occupants, 24-year-old Shandelle Blodgette and 42-year-old Shane Edwards, possessed heroin and "items related to narcotics distribution," troopers said. Edwards was also the subject of a felony no-bail warrant.

Troopers reported that a third occupant, 48-year-old Donna Buckwalter, "was found to be in possession of items which violated her felony probation." Troopers did not specify what the items were.

Edwards was charged with second-, fourth- and fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. Blodgette was charged with fourth- and fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and first-degree hindering prosecution. Buckwalter was charged with violating her probation.

All three were arrested and taken to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where they were held without bail.
