Annie Rush and Meghan Matyas scored second-half goals to lift West to a 2-0 nonconference girls soccer win over West Valley on Thursday at West. Rush muscled her way past two defenders to beat the Wolfpack keeper, and Matyas' goal came on a rebound after the West Valley failed to corral a long shot from the top of the 18-yard box.
South 5, East 0
South earned a 5-0 girls prep soccer win over East on Wednesday night at South.
Kayla Sims staked the Wolverines to a 1-0 lead at halftime, and Erin Stewart, Megan Currier, Jordan Foraker and Morgan Lash added strikes in the second. Currier, Stewart, Callie Orizotti, Vanessa Velez and Sofia Velez notched assists.
